What's Life all about?

I genuinely believe it is the Autistic and Adhd Folk, all the divergents, who are wired to care for each other, and fight for justice, where we can.

The endless cyclical worries and woes, the big feelings and big thoughts, leave many questioning whether we do enough, whether we make a difference at all, and ponder on what our purpose is and what life is all about.

It is nearing the end of December as I write this, a New Year about to start.

And I look back and wonder what I've been up to. I think about my achievements, burnouts, missed opportunities and also the times of joy and pride.

Life as a NeuroDivergent is not easy. Self doubt and Imposter Syndrome still come to visit, but the glimmers, the moments of play and the buzz of connecting with other beautiful souls is what keeps me smiling and fighting.

And it's not the big stuff. It's rarely the big stuff.

A child, very special to me, often sits beside me, snuggled, and plays with the beads on my wrist. They touch the bracelets one by one, asking me who each one is from. Every time I share space with them, this happens.

I share the story behind each bracelet. In each moment, the person in my story comes alive as if sat with us. A piece of that person's energy glimmers for us.

As a Therapist, I hear many stories, both happy and sad. Each sharing, each memory, carries an echo that travels between people and through souls and generations.

I witness my fellow NeuroDivergents sharing themselves with others, spreading motivation, supporting each other to play and also encouraging rest.

I read words of vulnerability that are shared by, and between friends, but also shared by unmet strangers that accidently give comfort to others.

That's what community is.

A shared and continuing connection between people.

And that's what life is about. Those tiny, seemingly unimportant moments and ripples of soul sharing that create communities and grows hope amongst us and for us.

So here, today, I say thank you. To all the beautiful people that I have shared something with this year.
